Curious Bends

What is it?

It is this, a weekly newsletter that consists of stories from around the web that will broadly cover these subject areas: science, technology, data and India. These stories will be curated by journalists and nerds, Vasudevan Mukunth and Akshat Rathi.

As avid readers of excellent things on the internet, we often come across a wealth of interesting ideas and gems of good writing. We’ve created this weekly newsletter to share the joys of devouring such work.

Why a newsletter?

We were inspired by other journalists who do an excellent job of producing newsletters. We whole heartedly recommend: Sidin Vadukut’s Now Here This, Alexis Madrigal’s Five Intriguing Things and Robert Cottrell’s The Browser.

While these newsletters and others like them are great, most topics they cover are quite western-centric. We wanted to create something that had its focus on the other side of the world. It is an attempt at setting the information balance right.

Both of us are quite active on Twitter, where we share articles, some of which end up in Curious Bends. However, only a small fraction of people who would find these articles interesting are on Twitter (and even they might miss them). The newsletter also provides us with a different way of reaching them.

Can I recommend articles?

Yes, we’d love to hear from you. Please send ideas to curiousbends@gmail.com. Thank you!

Will you treat my email address with care?

Yes, as carefully as holding a Juliet rose. We have no intention to share your email address with anybody else. You will only receive the newsletter and sometimes a request for feedback on the newsletter.
